In a hamlet with an old church, stocks, this pub and little else, this pub is mainly used by tourists and trippers attracted by the 16 handpumps and the stupendous collection of whiskies. Behind the 1629 datestone and old oak door, there has been modernisation and the single bar-room now sports a good deal of pale wood. There is a small garden at the back and a patio in front.

Open 12-11; 12-10.30 Sun
Food 12.00-2; 6-9; Sat, Sun 12-10.30
Getting there: ¼ mile from A65/A687 junction, which is served by buses 80, 80A to Lancaster and 567 to Kirkby Lonsdale.
