Lancashire is found in the northwestern region of England and is a place that should feature on your to do list. It can be tricky to know where to stay especially, since Lancashire County is so very large.
If you are in the city of Lancaster, then the Penny Street Bridge comes highly recommended. This, unlike the name suggests, is not a bridge but a beautifully modern hotel which boasts a restaurant and a bar and is conveniently situated in the center of town. The food served here is popular among the locals – which is a testament to its quality. They offer free Wi-Fi, satellite and cable TV and all of the rooms are air conditioned. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is said to be as delicious as the rest of the offered menu. If you want to stay in a smaller Bed and Breakfast type of place, then the Ashton is a nice alternative.
Prefer to be in the country?
What if the idea of being in the city doesn’t appeal to you? Why not try somewhere in the country outside of Lancaster? One great option is the Mill at Conder Green. This little hotel is a real converted mill, surrounded by beautiful countryside and located near the Lancaster Castle. What is really terrific is that they allow pets at this hotel, which is not the case for many accommodations in Lancaster. This would be a nice, secluded and romantic country getaway for couples.
Planning a trip to Blackpool?
If you plan to visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach amusement park, on the coast of Lancashire, then you could stay at the luxury hotel, The Big Blue Hotel. This hotel caters for families with children and they offer massages and a gym.
Of course, not everybody can afford to shell out to stay at a luxury hotel, so we have a cheaper, but no less superb, option. The Seagull Hotel has been rated as exceptional and is just over 1km away from Blackpool Pleasure Beach, so it is close enough to walk to and is affordable. They have free Wi-Fi and there is the option to buy snacks and drinks at the hotel.
Another nice and relaxing place to stay near Blackpool is at Ribby Hall Village. This charming little enclosure contains cottages of sizes varying from two to six beds. They are all fully furnished and self-catering and would be a terrific choice for a family that is looking to get away and spend some quality time together.
Visiting Blackburn or Preston?
If you need a place to stay at Blackburn then the Millstone at Mellor is an excellent choice. The rooms in this 18th century era inn are steeped in history; but don’t let that fool you – they are sumptuously decorated and you are sure to feel in the lap of luxury there! In Preston there are also some great places such as the four-star Preston Marriott or three-star Holiday Inn Preston. There are many excellent choices of accommodation to fit every budget in Lancashire County.
